Sammi & Matt - Villa Balbiano, Lake Como
Let us transport you to the beautiful Villa Balbiano for Sammi and Matt’s incredible wedding weekend. This picturesque villa is set on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como, and it has been the host of many famous and elaborate weddings over the years as well as the setting for many Hollywood films.
Sammi and Matt’s celebrations started the night before their wedding at the Villa Molli, a modern, contemporary villa with an infinity pool that looks over Lake Como. The couple decorated this villa lavishly with purple and violet florals and hosted a quaint rehearsal dinner for their closest friends and family outside in the garden. The couple and their guests watched the sun go down as they ate, laughed and reminisced, excited for the following day. After dinner, Sammi and Matt made their way to the rooftop, where many more esteemed guests awaited them. Here they enjoyed cocktails and canapés to the sound of music, watching over the lake as evening turned to night.
The day of the wedding.
On the morning of the wedding, we met Sammi back at Villa Molli to photograph her bridal preparations as she adorned her gorgeous Monique Lhullier wedding gown.
We then drove over to Villa Balbiano where All For Love had been planting the most incredible white rose meadow we had ever seen.
As the ceremony approached Matt headed down the rose-laden aisle and awaited his soon-to-be wife. As the music from the pianist picked up the doors to Villa Balbiano swung open and beneath a huge archway of flowers and foliage Sammi appeared with her father and made her way towards Matt.
After emotional vows, the newlyweds exited the aisle and headed for the lake where they were taken on a private boat ride that we captured with our drone.
Upon their return, they were taken with their guests to the front lawn to enjoy canapes and cocktails, whilst their dinner table was set up amongst the rose aisle.
Dinner was ready and the floristry team removed a column of flowers so the guests could get to their seats. Speeches ensued and the guests were lit up by a distant thunderstorm, which made for an incredible and dramatic light show.
The wind picked up and the storm drew closer as the guests headed back into Villa Balbiano, where they would spend the rest of their evening partying and dancing.
